Grocery Shop, Baby Strop

So I was scheduled to write Part 2 of my relationship blog post however, I have been side tracked by a mummy nightmare to say the least! For the purpose of the blog I’m going to name it “THE SHOPPING TRIP FROM HELL”

Just when I thought I had my S@#T together with this motherhood thing! My trusty newborn, reminded me that this is so far from the truth..

I was initially very sceptical about taking my now 7 week old grocery shopping, as I just pictured me being that mum in the store with the screaming baby getting looks from shoppers as they picked their tomatoes! However, on this particular day I decided that I would brave it! In preparation I fed my little boy and timed it for nap time! (1 point to mummy)

On arrival, I felt confident that I would be able to have a bit of a browse before picking up my essentials as baby would normally sleep for 2 hours…… However, nothing could prepare me for what would happen 10 minutes into my shopping trip!

My “little angel” began to cry. We are not talking a small cry, one that could easily go unnoticed, oh no, we are talking the mother of all screams like alarm bells screeching, Nails dragging on a chalkboard! After around the 3rd dirty look from the less than impressed shoppers, I took him out of his carseat (1 point to baby) and carried him round the store in one hand while I pushed the trolley in the other hand trying to throw everything I needed into the trolley at the speed of lightning! You can just picture it now can’t you my trolley crashing into others while I repeatedly say sorry while crashing into the fruit and veg stand, all this while he continued to scream the entire store down!

Phew, I made it to the till! (1 point to mummy). At this point I actually convinced myself that it wasn’t that bad. I was greeted by a lovely shopper who commented on how cute my little man was, as I turned him around to show him off (proud mummy moment)! He projectile vomited all over me! We are talking in my mouth, on my face, all over my clothes, all over his clothes! I just remember some one saying “some body get her some tissues” oh I needed more than tissues, I needed a big black hole, I needed a secret entrance under the till, I needed the floor to swallow me up! I needed A NEW SET OF DAMN CLOTHES!! I was then greeted by a shopper who asked “Is this your first child” as another shopper wiped baby sick off both me and my child! “NO” I stated “NO it’s not”.

At this point I was so ready to abandon my shopping and the baby πŸ˜‚ (I joke) and make a sharp exit, never to return to that store again! When a guardian angel appeared, a fairy god father, a heavenly being, who also happened to be the security guard! This wonderful man cleaned the baby sick off my face, packed my shopping bag, and took it to the car for me, what an absolute babe! (10 points to the security guard)

Moral of the story: No matter how bad your days been.. Just think of me knee deep in baby sick being cleaned up by random strangers in the middle of a supermarket!

With Love From P

Such a funny read πŸ˜‚ Although it sounds like a nightmare trip, I think you have to take the fact you got out the house with a newborn at all as a win haha so I’d give you an extra 10 points for that β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘πŸ» x

Oh my! I have yet to have baby girl go full tantrum on me while shopping. Thank you for sharing. It was amusing and I think the security guard should an extra 20 points. Not many people would step in and help nowadays!

OMG!! “The struggle is real” as they say. Whenever my boy is being “extra” in public, I just think about the fact that I won’t be seeing the people around me again… unless there’s someone I know then I would pass out probably lol.

The struggle was so real that day πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that’s a good way of looking at it, not seeing those people again.. so glad my son is getting over that extra phase now. Thanks for reading hun ❀️
